Is this training for you?
This training is for students who feel a tug in their chest when they’re on the mat—who sense that yoga is more than poses and are ready to explore it as a lived, embodied path. You do not have to want to teach right away, but you do need to feel called to deepen. You might be a good fit if you:
Have a consistent yoga practice and are ready to go beyond drop‑in classes
Feel curious about how to sequence, cue, and hold space for others
Are drawn to both strength‑building vinyasa and the quiet medicine of yin
Want a training that honors the nervous system and the realities of everyday life
Value a trauma‑aware, supportive environment where you can ask questions and be yourself
This training might not be the right fit if you’re seeking a quick certificate or a fitness‑only approach without interest in philosophy, self‑study, or the subtler layers of practice.
What you’ll come away with
By the end of these 200 hours, you can expect to:
Design and teach a safe, grounded 60–75 minute vinyasa or yin class
Understand how to sequence intelligently toward a peak pose or energetic theme
Offer clear, compassionate verbal cues that support many different bodies
Have a functional understanding of anatomy, breath, and the nervous system in practice
Feel more confident holding space, reading the room, and responding to what you see
Deepen your personal practice, on and off the mat, in ways that feel authentic to you
Know your next steps—whether that’s teaching public classes, weaving yoga into your current work, or simply living your practice more fully
Trauma-Informed Approach
At One Heart Yoga School, our 200-hour training is rooted in a trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware approach to teaching and practice. We believe yoga spaces are most impactful when they center choice, consent, embodied awareness, and respect for each student’s lived experience.Throughout the training, students are introduced to teaching practices that support safety and agency, including invitational language, adaptable sequencing, and an awareness of how yoga can affect the whole mind-body system. This approach helps future teachers create classes that are more inclusive, grounded, and responsive to the people in front of them.
What You’ll Learn
Within the 200-hour journey, you’ll begin exploring how trauma-informed principles can shape the way you teach, cue, and hold space. This includes an introduction to nervous system regulation, present-moment awareness, interoception, pacing, and language that supports empowerment rather than pressure or performance. Our intention is not to train therapists, but to help yoga teachers become more skillful, compassionate, and attuned facilitators. You’ll leave with practical tools to create classes that honor choice, support regulation, and meet students with greater sensitivity and care.
8-10 months, one weekend a month
To honor both depth and real life, this training runs over 8 months with one hybrid training weekend each month. We’ll combine online study with immersive in‑person time so you can learn, integrate, and come back ready for the next layer. Each training month includes:
Friday (online): 2–3 hours of recorded lessons, readings, and reflection, with occasional live Q&A
Saturday (in person): ~8 hours of practice, methodology, sequencing, and discussion
Sunday (in person): ~8 hours of practice teaching, labs, integration, and yin
This rhythm gives you time between weekends to absorb the material, complete assignments, and apply what you’re learning in your own practice, while keeping the container steady and focused.
You’ll also have reading, journaling, class observations, and practice‑teaching assignments that count toward your hours and help you grow in real, lived ways.

Q: How much is tuition?
A: Regular tuition is $2,850, and early bird tuition is $2,550 for applications and deposits received by August 15, 2026.
Q: Are payment plans available?
A: Yes. Payment plans are available, and a limited number of accessibility options may also be offered for those who need additional support. Please view the Tuition & Payment Options page.
Q: Is space limited?
A: Yes. Space is intentionally limited so each trainee receives meaningful attention, feedback, and support throughout the training.
Q: Do I have to want to teach?
A: No. Many people join to deepen their practice and understanding. You will, however, be asked to participate in practice teaching, because teaching is a powerful way to integrate the material, whether or not you plan to lead public classes.
Q: What if I need to miss a weekend?

A: Yes, One Heart Yoga School is a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) with Yoga Alliance
Q: How much yoga experience do I need?
A: A consistent practice is helpful. You do not need to be “advanced” or able to do every pose—you just need curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn.
Q: Do you offer accessibility options or work-trade?
A: Possibly. A limited number of accessibility options may be available, including extended payment schedules and some work-trade or partial scholarship arrangements for those with genuine financial need.
What about refunds & cancellations?
The $500 deposit is non‑refundable and non‑transferable. Tuition payments beyond the deposit are refundable up to 30 days before the first training weekend. After that point, tuition is non‑refundable, though in some circumstances partial credit toward a future training or program may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
